Terms of Service

The rules of the road.

These terms describe what CERAP is, what you can do here, and what happens if things go wrong. Written in plain language so you can actually read them.

Last updated: 2 July 2026

1. Who these terms are between

This service, CERAP (cerap.ai), is operated by Samajaya Marketing Sdn Bhd, a company registered in Malaysia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Samajaya Marketing Sdn Bhd, and "you" means any person who visits or uses cerap.ai.

By using CERAP you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Continued use after we update these terms means you accept the updated version.

2. What CERAP is

CERAP is a Malaysian intelligence-driven news platform. We publish news, analysis, explainers, fact checks, and political data — every Story layered from a 15-second summary to labelled perspectives, with sources cited on every claim.

We use AI to draft parts of our content. Editors review, verify, and approve everything before publication. Our approach is described in full in our Editorial Policy and AI Policy.

3. What you may not do

You may read, share, and quote CERAP content freely for personal, educational, and non-commercial use, with attribution. When using CERAP, you must not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content in a way that harms the service or breaches its terms of use.
  • Republish full Stories on another commercial site without written permission from the editorial team.
  • Impersonate CERAP, its editors, or its contributors.
  • Use CERAP to distribute malicious code, harass others, or violate Malaysian law.

4. Accounts

Some features (saving stories, following politicians, personalisation) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity under your account.

You can request account deletion at any time via Contact. On deletion we remove your account and personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Public content you did not create is not affected.

5. Intellectual property

All original CERAP content — Stories, editorial briefings, comparisons, visualisations, code, and design — is copyright of Samajaya Marketing Sdn Bhd, protected under Malaysian and international copyright law, unless a different license is stated on the content itself.

Third-party materials we cite (news reports, official documents, quotations) remain the property of their respective owners. Where we embed or quote such material, we do so under fair-dealing provisions for reporting current events, criticism, and research.

6. Third-party content and links

CERAP links to external sources (news articles, official documents, social media) as part of our citation model. We do not control third-party sites and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.

7. AI-drafted content — disclaimer

Parts of every Story may be drafted or assisted by artificial intelligence. Every reader-facing AI output is reviewed and approved by a named editor before publication (see AI Policy for full detail).

Despite verification, errors can occur. If you find a factual mistake or a misrepresentation, please contact us with the Story URL and specific paragraph. We take corrections seriously and update Stories in place — the URL never changes.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

CERAP is provided on an "as is" basis. We do our best to be accurate, balanced, and up to date, but we do not warrant that content is complete, error-free, or fit for any particular decision. To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

9. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from your use of CERAP is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts. We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any change. For questions, contact the editorial team.
